Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.
  • BOT

Dear CPDS Families and Community,

We have previously written to let you know that 2021 is the School’s centenary, celebrating 100 years. This will be an exciting year for the school and your children and we want to make it as memorable as we can.  It will be especially memorable for children whose final year at CPDS is 2021 and also for families whose primary school journey ends with CPDS at the end of 2021.

Due to the wonderful efforts of all New Zealanders we are now in Alert Level 1.  This means we can look to plan the school’s centenary celebrations with more confidence.

The Centenary Planning Committee now needs your help!  We need volunteers and people power…  The centenary celebration events we need your help with are proposed to take place over a weekend (yet to be decided) next year.

This is an opportunity to actively participate in your child’s school and meet other members of the school community.

There will be school based events and celebrations for the children during the year.  Some of these events and celebrations might require parent/caregiver volunteers.  Management and staff will keep our community informed of these when they are due to take place.

We would love to hear from you if you can provide assistance, ideas, time and energy with anything from planning or running events, marketing, advertising, fundraising, and general rallying up of people and volunteers (the centenary celebration weekend cannot happen without people-power!).  Any amount of your time and energy will be appreciated in any area you feel happy to participate in.  If you know of any other family who have now left CPDS but would like to help in any way, please also ask them to contact us.

Board of Trustee members Sarah Sutcliffe and Kirstin Fleming will be the main point of contact for the planning committee, please email Sarah Sutcliffe on ssutcliffe@cpds.school.nz to register your interest in being a volunteer to help with the centenary celebrations.

If you are at school and would like to offer your help please see Janet in the office to leave your contact details.

Also – keep your eyes open for the CPDS Centenary facebook page, coming your way soon!

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
Sarah Sutcliffe
