Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.
  • BOT

As reported by the media recently, teachers in both unions -NZEI (Primary) and PPTA (Secondary), have voted in favour of planned industrial action on Wednesday 29 May.

Teachers across New Zealand believe offers made by the Ministry to date have not adequately addressed the current crisis in staffing, resourcing, recruiting and retaining of teachers in the profession to provide the best education for our children.

Taking into consideration the number of staff involved in the strike action and the safety of the children, the Board of Trustees has decided to fully support the school teaching staff and will, therefore, close the school for instruction on Wednesday 29 May.

Closing the school for any period of time is not a decision we have made lightly but we cannot compromise the safety of our students, which we are sure you understand.

‘Andy’s Afterschool Care’ have offered to open a holiday programme on Wednesday 29 May to support parents.

Please make direct contact with Sandy on 027 288 0731 or by email at sandy@andyseducare.co.nz

Thank you in advance for making alternative arrangements for your child on Wednesday 29 May.

Kind regards
Nick Mackeson-Smith
Board Chair
and
Janine Irvine
Principal

‘ Andy’s Afterschool Care ‘
