Anti-bullying Event

Pink Shirt Day is celebrated around the country as a way of drawing our community’s attention towards the values of kindness and inclusivity. It encourages all of us to stand together against bullying in our workplaces and schools. This year CPDS will be joining in with the national celebration and will be holding our first ‘Pink Shirt Mufti Day’ on the 17th of May (Friday Week Three).

Over the course of next week our classes will be engaged in some learning around bullying that aligns to our school dispositions and values. We would love to end the week with a great celebration.

SO…

We encourage all students to wear something pink – be it a shirt, hat or lei with their mufti in exchange for a gold coin. Get busy planning your outfits!

Allergy Awareness Week

Next week, it is also ‘Allergy Awareness Week.  We will be supporting our children with food allergies by completing some activities in class to raise awareness and understanding of this issue.

Gold coin donations will be collected by teachers and proceeds shared between the NZ Mental Health Foundation and Allergy NZ.

Janine
