Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Now our children have had time to settle back into school after the lockdown period, we would like to touch base with you regarding their learning and achievement.   This year, our school has started using a new student management system (HERO) that allows us to present your child(ren)’s progress in an interactive digital formatwhich will replace the traditional hardcopy report we used to produce, twice a year.  Be assured you will still have the ability to print the reported information if you wish.

You will be able to access this online reporting towards the end of Week 10 (15-19 June).  We will then follow this up with a chance for you to connect with your child(ren)’s teacher via zoom, for a 10 min discussion that will mainly focus on:

  • how your child has socially settled back into school, after lockdown
  • their online learning during lockdown
  • their current achievement level measured against national expectation
  • their next steps

I am aware the country may move to Level One mid next week, which will end the need to social distance, however, we still intend to conduct these discussions via zoom, in Week 11 and 12 (22 June-3 July).   Then early next term, we would like to gather feedback regarding this experience from as many of you as possible, in order to inform our journey forward.

You will be able to book a zoom session on our normal online booking system that will go live at the end of Week 10.

More information will be made available to you regarding loging on and accessing your child(ren)’s information on HERO in the next couple of weeks

Kind regards
Janine
