On Tuesday 28th May, our chess team took part in the Zone Chess Comptetion at Maungawhau School in Mount Eden.
Our team members were Oscar Q, Max M, Zanlin S, Miqi L,Toby K, Oscar G, Yogya M, Zuhayr F, Otis E, Weiqi F, Raran S, Ethan M-S, Brian W, Logan P, Caden F, Niam V, Stephanie W, Aaditya V, and Li W.
Every student played a total of 7 games throughout the day and we had a number of successful results. Congratulations to Max M and Oscar Q who won 7 out of their 7 games.
Colleen Morrow was very impressed with both teams, as they displayed great skills, as well as fantastic sportsmanship. Our ‘A’ team, won the tournament and have now progressed through to the Chess Power Auckland regionals, which will be held on Monday 17th June. Well done to all of you; we are very proud of you!
