Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.

Staff Appointments

I am pleased to announce that we have two new members of staff joining us on Monday 10 June.  Gail Christie will be joining Puriri Team as the Team Leader and Teacher of Rm 28, replacing Kate Ginders, who left at the end of Term 1.  Gail is an experienced practitioner and leader from St Mary’s School in Ellerslie. In addition to Gail, we also have Steven Mills joining us from Christchurch.  Steven will be taking over from Chloe Grimmer Room 25, who will be leaving us to have her first baby at the end of next week.  We know the community would like to wish Chloe and Carlos all the best with this exciting adventure.  I would like to also extend a warm welcome on behalf of our school community to Gail and Steven (who will be growing our male contingent on staff).

Staff Resignation

I also unfortunately have to inform the community of the upcoming departure of one of our long serving members of staff- Cynthia Peat.  Over the past 25 years, Cynthia has been a class teacher, before moving from a fulltime class to lead the ESOL programme, until part way through last year, when she handed over this responsibility to Kelsi Robertson.  After stepping back a little last year, Cynthia has now decided to leave her part time position in order to be able to maximise her time with her husband Ken and their family.  Cynthia is a very humble and quiet person, who will be very much missed by the staff, students and families she has worked with over the years. I would like to thank her for her outstanding and dedicated service to CPDS, as well as wishing her the very best for the future.

Kind regards

Janine
