Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.

Welcome back everyone!

With the first week nearly completed there is no doubt that this term will be busy and short.  I would like to especially welcome all our new children and their families who started this term and it was great to see so many of you attend our Powhiri on Monday.  I would also like to welcome back Rebecca Boyes, who has started in Room 7, replacing Debbie Oats and Lucille Wiltshire who has just started our last new entrant class for 2017, in Room 30.

A quick reminder that the school has a rule that children must wear shoes to and from school.  This reminder is important as it is more tempting for our children to be in bare feet as the weather warms up.  Please do not take offence if a staff member reminds your child as they are leaving the school with you, as we are only trying to maintain the high standards we know our community want from our school.  Children also must wear their hats this term as we are a ‘Sunsafe’ school and therefore need to comply with the associated guidelines. Walking around the school today most children have already got themselves sorted, however, some told me they don’t have a hat.  Please be aware that from next week children without hats will need to be in the shade, which will unfortunately restrict their play choices during breaks.
