Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.

Three sleeps until the Family Fun Fiesta! Below is all the info you need to know, and a few bits to get you excited. We’re looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday morning starting 10am, rain or shine!

SCHEDULE OUT NOW

DOWNLOAD BY CLICKING HERE for the Fiesta day schedule – check it out! This has also been send home with your child today. The old-fashioned races will be held in year groups, so have a look and see what time your children should be ready to come and join in. These will be fun, fast, and entertaining.

The gates will open at 10am sharp, with the Fiesta beginning with a performance by the CPDS Kapa Haka Group. All the action will be spread out between the undercover courts, which will host the food and entertainment, and the field where all the racing, rides and games will be held.

ALL DAY PASSES

We will be selling ALL DAY wristbands, which will give children unlimited access to the rides and many of the games. Bouncy castles! Ferris wheel! Races! ALL DAY wristbands will be $20, some conditions apply. These will be for sale at the ticket booth on the field, the day of the Fiesta. Individual tickets will be $2.

ONLINE AUCTION

We have an amazing line up of auction items, which are all listed and ready to go on the online platform https://app.galabid.com/cpdsfiesta.  This is already open so spend the next day or two watching your bids to make sure you are not outbid. We have a great range of auction items, from a wide range of local restaurants and businesses. There is bound to be something to interest you – check them out now! We are very grateful to all the generous sponsors who have supported us with these auction items. The auctions will close at 12:00noon sharp on Sunday.

CAN YOU FACE PAINT? HAVE A SPECIAL TALENT IN HENNA? WE NEED YOU!

We are still in urgent need of a handful of volunteers – to help on our face paint and henna stands. If you can spare an hour or two on Sunday, we would be so grateful! Please get in touch asap – events@cpds.school.nz.

WHEELS PARADE

It’s time to start creating! This grand finale will be one not to be missed – make sure you’ve set aside some time to decorate your entry to the Wheels Parade. There is no entry too big or too exciting! Prizes will be up for grabs. Remember, your ‘Wheels’ entry can be anything on wheels, not just bikes.

There will be a fenced off area on the field where your Wheels item can be kept until the parade. These will be cordoned off and kept under security for the day, however there will be racks available to lock your bike/wheels too if you wish.

CAKE and SWEETS STALL

A reminder – cake boxes should have now been received by all families. This is always a hugely popular stand, and we really appreciate the school community chipping in and bringing a full box to the Fiesta. It doesn’t have to be fancy – cakes, muffins, cupcakes, slices, cookies etc are always so popular. You can return your full box to Room 30 on the bottom courts – EITHER Saturday 2-3pm, or Sunday before the Fiesta begins.

A huge thank you in advance!

If you’re unable to help with baking, please return your cake box to the office… extra boxes are also available at the office for those who would like more.

SET UP / PACK DOWN

The Fiesta Committee and volunteers will be setting up the schoolgrounds on Saturday, 10th April, from 10am onwards. We will also be packing down immediately following the event, from 2pm onwards on Sunday 11th. If you can spare any time on either day, we would be grateful for your help. Many hands make light work!

You can let us know via email events@cpds.school.nz OR simply show up if you find yourself with nothing to do.

This is going to be a really fun day for our school children and whanau community to celebrate the Centenary of CPDS. We are grateful for all the amazing help we have received so far, and thanks in advance to all those who have offered their time. We would love to see as many of you there as possible, supporting the school and these celebrations.

Thanks, and see you soon!
