Dear Parents and Caregivers
The school currently has a case of slapped cheek, so we are issuing a recommendation to all mothers/ women who may be in their first half of their pregnancy to be seek further information.
To find out the risks (which are small put possible) please click here to be redirected to the Ministry of Health Website, so you can make an informed decision on the best way to manage your situation.
Slapped cheek is a common childhood illness that causes bright red cheeks -like you have been slapped. As slapped cheek is infectious before it is diagnosed i.e children are not infectious once the rash appears, keeping your child home from school once diagnosed will not prevent the spread of the disease.
Kind regards
