University World Water Ski Championships are being hosted by the Auckland Water Ski Club at the Orakei Basin as part of Auckland’s Moana Festival. Over 80 of the world’s best under 25 water skiers will be competing in slalom, trick and jump events. This is the first World water ski championship to be held in NZ and is a unique opportunity to see the very best. With jump skiers hitting the ramp at over 100km an hour and jumping up to 60 meters this is sight to be seen.
For families, we have a special ski display show event on Friday the 28th from 6pm to 8.30 pm with Food Truck Collective and licensed bar areas at the club and on the reserve. This is a great FREE family event and way to end the week.
The competition runs from the 26th of Feb to the 2nd of March, starting at 7am and going all day.
