Tēnā koutou 大家好,
I’m Sindy Xian, proud parent of a Year 2 son and newly elected member of the Cornwall Park District School Board of Trustees.
As a 1.5 generation migrant of Chinese heritage who has lived in New Zealand for over 20 years, I’m passionate about building inclusive, connected, and sustainable school communities.
At CPDS, I’ve been actively involved through the Family and Friends group, helping to deliver our first zero-waste Fun Fiesta, volunteering in the classroom, and leading the creation of the Cornwall Park Community EcoHub and school garden.
Professionally, I’ve worked in community engagement roles with government agencies and currently lead Earth Action Trust, a non-profit focused on environmental education and action. I’m especially passionate about making school life more welcoming and accessible for migrant families who are new to the New Zealand education system.
I’m honoured to serve on the Board and to support the school’s strategic direction as we nurture an environment where all learners and whānau can thrive.
