Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.

Kia Ora,

I was born in South Africa and immigrated to New Zealand. I have been teaching for more than 20 years ranging from Year 0 to adults at Tertiary level.

Quality time with family is very important to me and I enjoy spending time with my husband Paul and our three girls Simone, Camille and Leah – (not forgetting Meeko, our precious feline). We love watching movies together, shopping and going for walks on the beach. We also like visiting different cafés with good coffee and we frequent places that sell great ice cream.

My daughters share my passion for art and when we find time we like to  paint with oils and acrylics on canvas. I mostly read Non-Fiction books and I love watching International movies. I can spend hours in the kitchen cooking for my family however I am not great at housework and I don’t particularly enjoy gardening. Our family has a strong spirituality and we strive to share love peace and happiness to those around us.

I am grateful and fortunate to work with children every day and I believe that every child’s talent can be developed through adopting a Growth Mindset. My dream is for every child to develop their passions and strengths and to feel loved and accepted for who they are.

He aha te mea nui o te ao
What is the most important thing in the world?
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata
It is the people, it is the people, it is the people
