Kia Ora I’m Lorna Cooney. Originally from Cape Town (South Africa) but have been living in New Zealand since 2019. I am an enthusiastic teacher eager to continue to contribute my skills and passion to the profession. With 11 years of teaching experience I have a deep commitment to student success and approach teaching with creativity and dedication. I have a 4 year B.Ed degree and an Honours degree in Educational Management and Leadership.
As an educator, I firmly believe in nurturing the holistic development of each student. Recognising their unique capabilities, and working alongside them to unlock their full potential. By fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, I strive to empower students to explore their interests, build confidence, and build essential life skills. Along with embracing the diversity of talents and perspectives within the classroom, I am committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, mutual respect and lifelong learning.
