Hi all, I currently have two daughters at CPDS, and my wife is a proud alumni of the school. Given the longevity of the relationship our family has with the school, I welcome the opportunity to help shape the direction of the school and our children’s futures.
I am an active member of the wider governing community, being the past Chairman of the Auckland Structural Group, after sitting on the board as Treasurer and Secretary previously. I am a mentor for young Engineers and have presented a number of technical papers at varying conferences around the world. More recently I have been coaching kids hockey teams, and am a member of the Junior Coaching and Coordination committee for the hockey club.
I have a technical background working as a structural engineer, but my role at Beca is diversified and working as a market segment leader on business development activities, my skillset is varied and communication is a key aspect of my job. I am responsible for a team of engineers, prepare financial and non-financial reports, and lead the delivery of multi-discipline major projects. Communicating ideas, solving problems, and challenging decisions to ascertain the best outcome for clients are some of the strengths that will be transferrable to working with the board. I am a Principal at Beca and take pride and ownership in the work that I undertake.
