Please be seated by 11:00 a.m. for a prompt start.

Kiwi Kapers

We will soon be inviting Year 3-6 students to express their interest in a trip to attend the ‘Kiwi Kapers’ show on August 4th. This is a fantastic introduction to the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra (APO), at the wonderful Aotea Centre. The music department will also subsidise the cost of this for students and parent helpers, depending on how many students wish to go, and how many parents offer to help. More info to follow, soon.

APO Mentoring- CPDS Orchestra and Selected Student Musicians

Finally, we will be welcoming some musicians and composers from the APO to mentor our orchestra and for selected students who have advanced musicianship skills, who wish to learn about arranging music for the orchestra.

We will perform the students’ orchestral arrangements towards the end of the term. Once our dates and timetable are confirmed, I will update you. Students doing the arranging workshops may have to do part of their workshops during lunch time (TBC). Most of the workshops are scheduled in block two on Fridays, during the normal orchestra and Music extension times.
