Auckland Zoo Trip – Totara Team
Kia Ora Parents / Caregivers
As part of our Inquiry study “Systems” and the Biosphere (focusing on the study of animals) the Totara Team will be visiting the Auckland Zoo. We will learn about the projects that are helping New Zealand and overseas animal populations, breeding programmes for endangered animals and the vet hospital that treats sick and injured animals from the wild.
Date: 4th June 2019
Times: 9:00am – 2:45pm
Please ensure your child is at school no later than 8.40am, as we will leave school via bus at 9:00 am sharp. We will leave the zoo at approximately 2pm for a 2.45pm arrival at school.
To maintain ratios parent helpers need to join us on the bus.
Your child will need to bring:
- A clearly named waterproof jacket/raincoat to be packed into their school bag (no umbrella)
- Any medication that they may need e.g. asthma inhaler
- School Bag with lunch and clearly named water bottle
To cover the cost of the bus, we request a contribution of $16 per child which can be paid via Kindo. Please make payment no later than Monday 27 May.
We will also require parent helpers for supervision, however, due to the nature of this trip, we are unable to take preschoolers. Please respond to the question on Kindo to indicate if you are able to be a parent helper. Teachers will email parents to confirm if their offer of help is required.
