Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.
Welcome back to Term 2 in the Library. Thank you so much to all the parents who have been coming in to help in the library, and those taking home books to cover. I was overwhelmed by the offers of help! Your time here makes a huge difference and I’m very grateful.
Remember the library is open every day during morning tea and lunch and for half an hour before and after school Monday to Wednesday. Parents are welcome to join up and borrow books to share with your children.
A great reading challenge with tasty rewards. HELL Pizza Reading Challenge

Cornwall Park School is participating in the HELL Pizza Reading Challenge, which is being run in conjunction with the 2018 New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults.

Children are being given “pizza wheels”. Every time they finish a book, the wheel gets clicked off and signed by a teacher or librarian. When they have finished seven books, they can take their completed pizza wheel to any HELL Pizza store and redeem it for a free 333 Pizza.

The HELL Reading Challenge is a highly successful programme that gets kids reading and enjoying the pleasures of stories with free pizza rewards.

Cornwall Park team wins at Kids’ lit Quiz

Earlier this week two Year 6 teams represented CPDS at the annual Auckland Kids’ Lit Quiz. Both teams had a wonderful night out, battling it out against more than 50 school teams from Years 6 – 8 schools around Auckland. After answering 100 questions taken from children’s books, one of our teams won the Year 6 Division. Well done to all of you!
