As with any new system we find the issues once people start to use it, and this was the case with the ‘Cross Country’ notifications sent yesterday.
The school has decided to send alerts using the school app, as the primary way of getting important notices out in real time (e.g. for cancellations of events), rather than emailing.
The introduction of alerts was in response to the overwhelming feedback about the previous way we communicated by email, which our families found very frustrating. However, it was highlighted yesterday that a number of people have still not downloaded the app. In fact, to date we have less than half of our school using the App, or if they have downloaded it, it also appears that some still need to select the different categories relevant to their families, in order to to receive the important notices.
To ensure you know as soon as a decision is made to cancel one of your children’s events, or to be the first to receive important alerts the school may need to send out e.g. unexpected school closures etc, it is important to download the App. If you are unsure how to please read the form by clicking on the link below
