Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.

Greetings, tena koutou, konnichi wa, malo e lelei, namaste, talofa lava, ni hao!

Welcome back to Term 3. I hope you and your children managed to have a great break even though the weather wasn’t brilliant for the two weeks. A warm welcome to all our new families who have joined us at CPDS this term. We will be holding our offical powhiri for you all on Monday Week 4 (14 August), as we will be combining this term’s welcome to also include the students visiting us from our sister school in Ningbo, China.

Staff Farewell
I would like to acknowledge Vicki Hartstonge who was one of our fantastic Teacher Aides. At the end of last term, Vicki decided that it was time to update her teaching qualifications and this endeavour will take up all her time for the near future. We wish Vicki all the best and thank her for all the effort she put in helping our children while she was here. We will see Vicki back at school soon as part of her teacher refresher training requirements.

New School Website
I am extremely pleased to announce that we will be launching our new school webpage on Monday next week. The new site reflects our school more accurately and contains so much information that you can refer to when and as needed. In addition to the new webpage we have updated the school logo to reflect the 21st Century more. You will be able to read about the history of the school logo on the ‘Our Story’ page of the website to see how it has evolved since the school opened.

In addition we will soon be releasing a Cornwall Park District School app which compliments the webpage and will allow seamless access to information regardless of devices used. We will let you know as soon as this is all ready to go.

Both platforms will provide a more streamlined approach where you can receive or access only the information that is pertinent to you, saving you time and limiting the frustrations many of you have experienced in the past with communication. We are obviously interested in how you find our new site and app and welcome any feedback.

Therefore this is my last Principal Update through Signmee. As from next week I will be changing to communicating through my Principal’s Blog and the school will also be introducing a new look newsletter in the very near future.

Have a great weekend everyone
