Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.
Lee-Ann-Lucas

My husband Michael and I have often considered ourselves very fortunate to have established ourselves within walking distance of the Cornwall Park District School well before children were considered. Now we have two children attending the school; Scarlett is in her final year and Charlie is in Year 4. Our experience with the school has been welcoming and responsive and has provided a great local community for both us and our children. I am very much a believer in nurturing communities. I have been involved in Auckland local government for more than 25 years as a planner/ policy analyst and have been involved in countless community engagements to ensure the best outcomes for everyone. I have been the local Brownie leader for Oranga Brownies for the past 11 years. Encouraging the girls’ awareness and involvement in their communities (from Hillsborough to Oranga and across to Ellerslie) was a particular goal.

I am also involved in the school community assisting in the co-ordination of the twenty-plus food stalls for the Annual Fair for the past three years and as a netball coach, also for the past three years. I enjoy helping people reach their best and I am a committed and enthusiastic team member (I come from a family of seven). I relish the opportunity to be involved in the governance team of the school and to provide energy and a fresh perspective to the task of bringing the best tools and practices available to help the kids reach their best.
