Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.

On Friday, we all celebrated another wonderful Diwali celebration.  During the day, children across the school were able to experience some great learning opportunties related to Indian culture, as well as our Indian children being lead learners for the day.

A huge thank you also to the large number of parents who assisted with activities in classrooms, providing a feast for the adults at lunchtime and/or helping with the assembly in the afternoon, where different classes and children shared their talents and/or learning from the day. We could not have done it without you!  I would like to thank also staff who have been integral in the organisation leading up to and during the actual celebration on Friday; to Dev, Swati, Veeninder, Ronelle and Vishaka.

We were also visited during the day, by the ‘Indian Weekender’ which is a newspaper (and website) that reports on events and news that relates to the Indian community in New Zealand.

We are already looking forward to our 2019 celebration.
