Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.

On Friday, a large contingent of staff, BOT representative and parents, along with Alicia’s family and our Senior Kapa Haka group ‘Totara-i-Ahua’ travelled to Grey Lynn School to take part in the offical Powhiri for Alicia Whata, who they were offically welcoming, in her new role as their new Principal next year.

It was a wonderfully warm and very moving ceremony and our children as usual did us proud supporting our speakers with their beautifully strong ‘Waiatas”. Even though we don’t want Alicia to leave us, at least we now know she is joining a wonderful community.

I would also like to thank the staff who stayed behind to cover the teachers who went.  It was only due to their positive support that so many people were able to attend.
