Whakapau kaha – to be better than before.

Dear Parents and Caregivers

You and your family are cordially invited to attend the Year 5 Dance Performance. It will be held on Wednesday 1st November  in the Hall from 6.00 pm – 7.00 pm.  This is week 3 of Term 4. Our theme is a surprise this year, however all students will be taking part in at least 3 dance items.

All students need to have a ‘base’ costume of the following:

Boys: Pants – BLACK
(preferably track pants or soft sports pants – jeans are hard to dance in)
LONG or SHORT sleeved t-shirt – plain BLACK

Girls: ¾ or full-length tights – BLACK
LONG or SHORT sleeved t-shirt – plain BLACK

We will need all students to have their costumes at school by Monday of Week 9 as we are fully into rehearsals by then. Any student who is unsure if what they own is suitable – Please have them bring it to school for their classroom teacher to view. If you are having trouble sourcing what you need – please discuss this with your child’s teacher, as we may be able to help. If you have spare items of the clothing above, and don’t mind letting us borrow it, please send these to school with your child.

From Week 8,  students may bring  their costume to school in a well-named plastic bag which we can then safely store without losing pieces. However, we encourage every child to make sure that their personal clothing has a name on it, as inevitably some children misplace their gear, and we would prefer to avoid this issue.

On the night of the performance there will be a specified time children need to be in their classrooms. A further notice, with details about this, will come out in Week 1 of Term 4.

If for any reason your child will be unable to make this performance, can you please let us know by the end of this week.

Thank you.

Erin Hooper
Team Leader
